Since 2018, Asia Cement has introduced artificial intelligence and deep learning technologies, integrating its existing control systems into the ACTEC AI Control System under the “Cement 4.0” initiative. Together with IT infrastructure, data analytics platforms and IoT applications, these technologies support process efficiency and smart operations management.

Smart Production Line AutoML Project

The AutoML project covers clinker strength prediction, limestone stockpile composition prediction, raw meal batching optimization and coal consumption optimization. Production data and AI models are integrated into the ACTEC system to support real-time decision-making and process optimization.

AI-Based Clinker Strength Prediction

Conventional clinker strength testing takes 28 days. Using kiln-feed and clinker quality data together with real-time rotary kiln operating data, the AI model predicts strength at 3, 7 and 28 days. This enables earlier warnings of quality changes and helps reduce additional electricity use at the cement mill. In 2025, Asia Cement launched three further projects—limestone stockpile composition prediction, raw meal batching optimization and coal consumption optimization. These projects are expected to improve batching efficiency and product quality, support wider use of alternative raw materials and fuels, and reduce coal consumption.
